Virtus Energy, part of the RSK Group are looking to appoint a Technical Manager - Renewables, based out of their head office in Kent. This is a full time permanent role. 

Virtus Energy is a leading innovator in renewable energy solutions, dedicated to creating a sustainable future through cutting-edge technology and integrated energy systems. We specialise in the design, installation, and maintenance of EV charging systems, solar systems, battery storage systems, and microgrid solutions.

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Technical Manager to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing the design and specification of renewable energy systems, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations. As a key member of our team, you will utilise your expertise to drive projects from concept to completion, providing technical leadership and support.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and design EV charging systems, solar photovoltaic (PV) systems, battery storage solutions, and integrated microgrid solutions.
  • Create detailed technical specifications and design documentation for renewable energy projects.
  • Utilise software tools such as Electrical OM and Trimble for system design and analysis.
  • Manage technical aspects of renewable energy projects from initial concept through to final commissioning.
  • Coordinate with clients, operations team, and other stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Oversee the installation, testing, and commissioning of systems to ensure they meet design specifications and regulatory standards.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering an advantage, Renewable Energy, or a related field.
  • Experience in the renewable energy industry, with a focus on system design and project management.
  • Competency to be on the company’s NICEIC Approved Contractor list an advantage.
  • Proficiency in using Electrical OM, Trimble, and other relevant design and analysis software.
  • Strong understanding of EV charging systems, solar PV systems, battery storage solutions, and microgrid integration.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.

Preferred Skills:

  • Chartered Engineer (CEng) status or working towards it.
  • Experience with energy management systems and smart grid technologies.
  • Knowledge of financial modelling and cost analysis for renewable energy projects.
