Scope of Services

We require the services of a Decommissioning Project Engineer (Outside of IR35) to provide independent contract services to support the multi-discipline delivery of decommissioning projects (typically at conceptual / pre-FEED project stages). 

The scope of services requires providing broadtechnical inputs and project engineering on a range of decommissioning projects, from traditional upstream oil and gas to emerging energy transition developments, and shall include: 

Applied Comparative Assessment (CA) experience (management/delivery/development) Collaborating with a highly skilled and experienced decommissioning team and working with a wide range of clients on varied projects. Defining new developments decommissioning philosophies during concept selection, through to technical/perimetry support of mature assets and the production of Decommissioning Programmes and Client support during execution in the UK and overseas.  Targeting value add contributions to support robust early-phase key project decision making.

Genesis globally is managed within core services lines (Early Advisory Solutions, Development Solutions and Asset Lifecycle Solutions) and key markets (Low Carbon, CO2 Management & Renewables and Upstream & Downstream Oil & Gas). The Genesis UK Operating Centre (with offices in Aberdeen and London) is organised into 8 core delivery teams. In this role you would join the Project and Discipline Engineering Delivery Team. This team, in supporting Genesis global delivery of advisory services, currently comprises circa 50+; engineers, project engineers and study managers, managed in six core delivery groups comprising; Project Engineering / Piping & Layouts, Mechanical and Construction / Electrical / Control, Instrumentation & Telecommunications / Structural, Civil and Marine / Decommissioning.

Requirements

The service provider is required to be / have:

Degree Qualified in relevant engineering subject (MEng or BEng (Hons)/ MSc or BSc or relevant engineering/science degree qualification). Minimum 5 years decommissioning project engineering / relevant experience. Previous experience of working as part of a multi-discipline team on decommissioning / projects. Manage multi-discipline teams in the delivery of decommissioning project studies, with a focus/detailed understanding of Comparative Assessments (CAs). Manage effective interfaces/relationships between disciplines, and peers in other projects and clients. Review of documentation, including engineering, environmental, survey and drawings in support of decommissioning studies and as inputs to CAs. Participate in decommissioning workshops and ENVID/HAZID reviews. Provision of decommissioning engineering technical and compliance advice. Develop high quality proposals and bid submissions. Detailed understanding of CA Process, regulatory drivers and previous experience of leading/managing CA scopes. Competence in supporting the development of cost and schedule estimates. Knowledge of decommissioning legislation, engineering techniques, solutions and challenges. Excellent report-writing, reviewing, communication, client-handling, and interpersonal skills; Full command of English language written and spoken. Flexibility for ad-hoc travel both within UK and abroad.
