Teaching Personnel is partnering with a Pupil Referral Unit in the Plymouth area dedicated to giving young people a fresh start and the opportunity to return to mainstream education. This role is a full-time position, Monday to Friday, from 8:30 AM to 3:00 PM.

About the School: The school provides a safe and supportive environment where every pupil is valued and encouraged to achieve their potential. The school also offers access to other sites for specialized subjects such as construction and music. The staff are highly skilled and committed to creating an inclusive learning environment and fostering positive relationships with the students, many of whom have had negative experiences in education.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

  • Promote good behaviour and kindness while assisting with academic work delivery.
  • Treat children with equality and respect, establishing positive boundaries.
  • Build strong relationships with parents and colleagues to create a safe and protective environment for the children.
  • Assist learners in understanding lessons and educational activities delivered by the teacher.
  • Preferably have SEN experience, including any of the following: ASD, SEMH, Non-verbal, PMLD, MLD, visual impairment.
  • Work with individual pupils or across a class alongside other support assistants.
  • Hold an enhanced DBS on the update service (or be willing to undergo the process with us).
  • Demonstrate a good level of academic ability.
  • Exhibit a kind, calm, and enthusiastic attitude with a strong work ethic.
  • Be available for at least six months.
  • Have a fully checkable work history.
  • MUST HOLD A FULL DRIVING LICENSE AND HAVE ACCESS TO A CAR.
