Main duties of the job

You will form part of a team whose primary role is to provide desktop and telephony IT support to users throughout the Trust and with providing quality, first point of contact for computer/phone users requiring assistance via the IT Service desk working remotely or directly with the customer. 

You must be proficient in providing 1st line support across the End User Compute estate and also 1st line support knowledge of Networks, Servers, mobile technology. This post is one of a number at this level and will provide support to users at all Trust sites.

It is also essential that you are flexible, enthusiastic and can display high levels of initiative, together with the ability to work under pressure individually and as part of a team and undertake your duties with minimum supervision. You must possess good communication skills and be able to deal with users in a pleasant and efficient manner.
You may be required to participate in the Departments’ out-of-hours on-call rota and working on rotation based at Preston and Chorley Hospitals.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

Provide quality support. Management and development of the Trust’s IT/Telephony Services and systems. Troubleshooting problems and supporting the End User Compute estate ie. desktop PCs/laptops, desktop phones and mobiles. Active Directory management and remediation Microsoft client and server products Server/client hardware and IT security

Implement and develop processes across the 1st,2nd and 3rd line teams to improve workflow and knowledge management

Minimum of 4 GCSE’s Grade A* - C / 9 - 4 or equivalent, including Maths and English, or equivalent experience Business Administration Level 2 or equivalent experience
