Our client, a distinguished medical centre, is currently seeking Patient Care Administrator to integrate into their esteemed team. In this role, you will play a pivotal role in facilitating patient access to the necessary services and healthcare professionals, ensuring a seamless and efficient experience. As a Patient Care Administrator your responsibilities will include providing general and administrative support to the practice team, projecting a warm and approachable demeanour to patients and visitors both in-person and over the phone.

Responsibilities as a Administrator apprentice

Administration

  • To have a thorough knowledge of all Practice procedures.
  • To work in accordance with written protocols.
  • Scanning of all incoming post.
  • Processing new patient registrations.
  • Sending patient information via post/email/Accurx
  • Processing requests for on-line access
  • Dealing with medical report requests.

Reception

  • Receiving patients consulting with members of practice team.
  • Handing completed repeat prescriptions to patient and checking names and address.
  • Be able to cover all reception positions as necessary.

Appointments

  • Process appointment requests for today, future appointments from patients by telephone and in person, using a computerised system.
  • Deal with visits requests.
  • Recording requests for home visits and contacting duty doctor.

Computer

  • Registrations of new patient's computer data entry and medical records.
  • Process patients change of address computer data and medical records (have knowledge of practice area.
  • Process repeats prescription request in accordance with practice guidelines.

Telephone

  • Have working knowledge of telephone, during and after hours.
  • Answering telephone, taking messages, and redirecting queries as appropriate.

Skills / Experience

  • Excellent communication skills, written and relationship building.
  • Ability to write and read well.
  • Positive, flexible, proactive, and self-motivated approach to working with others.
  • A confident and determined approach.
  • Team player
  • Enjoys a challenge.
  • The ability to prioritise and plan your own workload.
  • A polite, confident, and friendly telephone manner
  • Confidence using computers, specifically office applications and CRM.
  • Competent understanding of IT

Qualifications

  • Minium: GCSE (grade A- C) including English and Mathematics, or equivalent

Prospects

The opportunity to potentially go into a permanent based position once completed the apprenticeship.

Job Title: Patient Care Advisor/Administrator Apprentice

Apprenticeship: Business Administration Level 3

Contract length: 18mths.

Location: Brighton

Salary: £8.60ph (36 hours per week £16,099.20 per annum)

Full time: Monday 1pm - 5pm - Tuesday - Friday, 8:30am - 5pm
