About the role

As part of the Communications & Marketing Leadership Team, the Head of Customer Growth – Education will take ownership of new business generation, business retention and sales growth across the UCAS Media Education Sales team whilst maximising the opportunities to maintain and grow the UCAS customer base.

The role holder will need to coordinate with teams to execute marketing campaigns and product changes including pricing strategies as well as understand customer behaviour and sector trends. As a key member of the Communications and Marketing Senior Leadership Team, the Head of Customer Growth - Education will support the overall leadership and management of UCAS Media.

Key accountabilities:

Strategic Leadership
• Create, lead and report on the sales strategy across Education sectors and customers. Delivery of more from UCAS Media existing business, identifying and developing new education customers and advising on new product opportunities.

Business Development
• Create and maintain relationships with key decision-makers and influencers in the education sector.

Customer Focus
• Promote customer-centric sales approaches.

Sales Management
• Work with key stakeholders around the business to create robust product intelligence to drive sales.

Collaboration and Communication 
• Work closely with various teams to ensure a cohesive approach to market entry and customer engagement

Skills, qualifications, and experience

• Commercially minded with significant experience of working in a targeted sales environment, managing budgets and setting revenue targets at a senior level
• Demonstrated track record of achieving and exceeding sales targets

• In-depth understanding of stales strategies, methodologies and tools

• Significant experience of working within an higher or further education environment

• A dynamic and authentic leader, with substantial experience of leading multiple teams and driving a high-performance sales culture

• A strategic thinker who makes the connections clear for the team between strategy and delivery

• Significant experience in developing sales business plans and driving strategic initiatives

• Demonstrable experience of implementing recognition and reward schemes which facilitate high performance, target achievement and desired behaviours

• Ambitious and actively seeks out opportunities to develop ideas and new propositions

• Creative, looks for new and innovative ways to drive growth across a range of accounts

• Curious and has a continuous learning mindset. Seeks out opportunities to learn more about UCAS customers, the marketplace, and opportunities for new ventures

• Develops talent, with experience of recruiting, mentoring, and coaching a team of sales executives

• Experience of responding to tenders, writing bids, and pitching for major opportunities

Salary - £85,000
