NHS Scotland is reducing their full time working week from 37.5 to 37 hours per week from 1 April 2024 but with no change in pay. This reduction will also be applied pro rata for part time staff. This advert and any subsequent offer/contract of employment therefore reflects the new working hours. However, as not all service areas will be able to adopt the 37 hour working week immediately from 1 April 2024, you may be required to work up to an additional 30 minutes per week for a temporary period for which you would be paid until the service you are working in changes rosters or working patterns to accommodate the new reduced working week. The Department Clinical Physics & Bio-Engineering - Clinical Engineering-Physiological Measurement Services in NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is seeking to appoint a Band 6 Clinical Technologist.

The Clinical Engineering Department comprises a small team of clinical technologists and clinical scientists providing highly specialised diagnostic services throughout Greater Glasgow and Clyde. We see mainly outpatients across our main sites at Royal Alexandra Hospital, Paisley (RAH) and Queen Elizabeth University Hospital, Glasgow (QEUH). Our team provides a wide and varied range of physiological measurement services.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced clinical technologist to join our team in this full time post working 37.5 hours per week. You will play a vital role in the provision of our service and will be involved in all aspects of service delivery.

For this key role, we are looking for a keen Clinical Technologist who will be expected to work across various sites within NGS Greater Glasgow & Clyde. Applicants would be expected after an initial training period to be able to gain membership and accreditation with the United Kingdom Continence Society (UKCS) and the British Society for Clinical Electrophysiology of Vision (BriSCEV).

You will have a degree in a scientific subject (or other similar discipline) or equivalent. (HNC /ONC with suitable experience will be considered) and you will be experienced in a healthcare environment.
