We have an exciting opportunity for a Salaried GP to join our enthusiastic, friendly and hard working team at St John's Medical Centre. For the right candidate, there maybe a potential further opportunity for Partnership. We are looking for a Salaried GP to work 6-8 sessions per week.
We are a large Training Practice with circa 13,000 patients registered. We are located in the market town of Grantham, which offers excellent transport links with easy access to the A1 and is on the mainline for London. Two notable Grammar schools in the area are Kesteven and Grantham Girls School and The King School.
Main duties of the job
We pride ourselves on providing high quality care and would love the post holder to be an enthusiastic and forward thinking clinician who has a passion for General Practice and provides exceptional levels of care.
It would be desirable but not essential for the post holder to have a Special Interest in MSK/ Minor Surgery
The post holder will manage a case load and join our large but welcoming clinical team that consists of 3 Partners, 3 Salaried GP's, 2 Clinical Pharmacists, 2x Physiotherapists, 2 Practice Care Coordinators, 3 Practice Nurses, 2 HCA's and a Diabetes Nurse.
Amongst these Team Members, there are special interests in Gastroenterology, Dermatology, Diabetes and Sexual Health.

The Practice has been successful in its application to become a Licensed Sponsor under the Skilled Worker Immigration Route.
In addition, we are also a Training Practice and regularly welcome GP Registrars, Nursing Placements and Medical Students.
In our last CQC Regulatory Review we retained our 'Good' grade.
Clinical Systems: We currently use SystmOne, AskmyGP and Accurx. Full training will be provided.

Job Summary
To work as an autonomous practitioner, responsible for the provision of medical services to the practice population, delivering an excellent standard of clinical care whilst complying with the GMS contract. Furthermore, the post-holder will adhere to the GMC standards for good medical practice, contributing to the effective management of the practice, leading by example, maintaining a positive, collaborative working relationship with the multidisciplinary team.
Primary Responsibilities
The following are the core responsibilities of the salaried GP. There may be on occasion, a requirement to carry out other tasks; this will be dependent upon factors such as workload and staffing levels:
The delivery of highly effective medical care to the entitled population
The provision of services commensurate with the GMS contract
Generic prescribing adhering to local and national guidance
Effective management of long-term conditions
Processing of administration in a timely manner, including referrals, repeat prescription requests and other associated administrative tasks
On a rotational basis, undertake telephone triage and duty doctor roles
Maintain accurate clinical records in conjunction with good practice, policy and guidance
Working collaboratively with the clinical team.
Adhere to best practice recommended through clinical guidelines and the audit process
Contribute to the successful implementation of continuous improvement and quality initiatives within the practice
Accept delegated responsibility for a specific area (or areas) or QOF
Attend and contribute effectively to practice meetings as required
Contribute effectively to the development and maintenance of the practice including; clinical governance, training and financial management
Ensure compliance with the appraisal process
Prepare and complete the revalidation process
Commit to self-learning and instil an ethos of continuing professional development across the practice team
Support the training of medical students from all clinical disciplines
Support the partners in achieving the strategic aims of the practice, making recommendations to enhance income and reduce expenditure
Review and adhere to practice protocols and policies at all times
Encourage collaborative working, liaising with all staff regularly, promoting a culture of continuous improvement at all times
Secondary Responsibilities
In addition to the primary responsibilities, the salaried GP may be requested to:
Participate in practice audits as requested by the audit lead
Participate in local initiatives to enhance service delivery and patient care
Participate in the review of significant and near-miss events applying a structured approach root cause analysis (RCA)
