An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Primary & Community Services admin team as a shift supervisor.

We are looking for enthusiastic and motivated individuals who can work flexibly to supervise a team of admin officers, secretaries, admin assistants, call handlers, receptionists and ward clerks based in our Hub (contact centre) at Tweedbank, and in health centres and community hospitals across the Borders.

Supervisors work in partnership with admin leads and service managers to oversee processes such as appointment booking, staff training, rostering and absence cover. Supervisors make sure admin staff feel supported, particularly when dealing with difficult members of the public.

We are keen to hear from people who are organised, approachable and willing to turn their hand to anything. Our supervisors think on their feet, can confidently communicate and problem solve when required to.

Various hours are available Monday to Friday, 08:00 – 17:00.

These roles are based in NHS Borders admin hub at Tweedbank.

Travel across the Borders may be required therefore a full, clean driving license is desirable.

NHS Scotland is reducing their full-time working week from 37.5 to 37 hours per week from 1 April 2024 but with no change in pay.  This reduction will also be applied pro rata for part time staff.  This advert and any subsequent offer/contract of employment therefore reflects the new working hours.  However, as not all service areas will be able to adopt the 37 hour working week immediately from 1 April 2024, you may be required to work up to an additional 30 minutes per week for a temporary period, for which you would be paid, until the service you are working in changes rosters or working patterns to accommodate the new reduced working week.  If you have any questions or concerns, please contact the Hiring Manager.
