Job summary

Central Lancashire Breast Unit are looking to recruit a part time Matron to join our breast team at Chorley and South Ribble District Hospital. This is a hour flexible role within our designated out-patient breast service covering Monday to Friday. You will be expected to work alongside and complement the existing Matron who will undertake the clinical element of this portfolio as part of the job share. You will be responsible for overseeing the day to day running of the outpatients clinics providing leadership to the nursing teams within the remit of the Matron role. You will also work alongside the business Managers as part of the Triumvirate to ensure the breast service runs efficiently. We are particularly interested in hearing from positive, motivated, dynamic and enthusiastic applicants who enjoy participating in a range of quality improvement activities with staff and patients. The Matron will provide expert advice, support and visible leadership to all staff, driving the quality agenda throughout our well-established breast team.

Qualifications & Education

Essential

Appropriate Professional Registration Degree within healthcare / research 1st Line management/leadership development course Teaching aEvidence of Continuous Professional Developmentnd Assessing qualification.

Substantial and relevant post registration experience Significant experience of working in a senior nursing role including nursing management or team leadership Proven ability to flexibly manage manpower and other resources Able to demonstrate a personal contribution to the continuing professional development of staff Able to demonstrate a sound working knowledge of current issues within the NHS Knowledge of Clinical Governance and Safeguarding and the relevance of these to practice Experience of contributing to service developments and business planning Awareness of budgetary management and control Experience of managing and completing 'performance management' processes
