We are looking for a nurse who has recent Pre-Operative Assessment experience, with orthopaedic knowledge and experience, who is dynamic and enthusiastic with the ambition to succeed. A desire to develop both clinical and managerial skills and the ability to work with the whole team in support of the senior sister/charge nurse to lead the department into the future is required.

Main duties of the job
This post would ideally suit a nurse who is keen to develop; someone who recognises opportunities for improvements and is enthusiastic, show consistent commitment and a motivator to drive forward changes within the unit.
You will have the drive and flexibility to help us deliver and maintain a high standard of patient care for Nurse led pre-operative assessment.
You need strong communication skills both verbally and in writing. Will need to efficient in Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel and Electronic Patient Record. Ability to work collaboratively in a team and perform as an autonomous practitioner as required of the role.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
To support the Senior Sister/Charge Nurse or Matron in ensuring the provision of excellent care with compassion for the patients, relatives and visitors who are cared for within or by the ward, department, service or team.
Be responsible for ensuring the planning, delivery and evaluation of care to meet the personalised health and wellbeing care needs of patients, in line with the Trust’s Values & Nursing & Midwifery Professional Framework
Provide strong leadership and direction to the team, monitoring and maintaining standards of care and professional practice to support day to day efficient running of the clinical area, service.

Qualifications & Education
Essential criteria
Appropriate NMC Registration Evidence of continuing professional education or development in area of specialty Minimum 12 months experience within orthopaedics Mentorship
Desirable criteria
Post registration qualification in area of speciality area Degree Completion leadership and management programme band 6 experience
