Role Overview

As a Future Teacher, you will:

  • Position: Cover Supervisor within a secondary school in Bridgwater.
  • Responsibilities:
    • Step in during short-term teacher absences.
    • Ensure continuity in student learning by overseeing tasks set by the teacher.
    • Provide supervision, delivering a high-quality learning experience.
    • No active teaching, marking, or planning required.

During Your Placement, You Will:
  • Maintain a reflective journal to document your daily experiences.
  • Observe lessons within your subject area and beyond to broaden your teaching knowledge.
  • Learn effective differentiation, behavior management, and non-subject activities such as registration and assemblies.
  • Collaborate with staff to support student development through pastoral systems.
  • Familiarize yourself with school policies and understand their rationale for development.
  • Master the syllabus in your subject area and explore how your degree knowledge can be applied, presenting this to the school.
  • Support students in coursework and exam preparation.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
