You will be supporting and promoting registered nurses and healthcare support workers through their clinical competency development and leadership.

We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic, flexible and willing to travel across the Trust. The Trust covers a large, diverse population and the borough includes several parks, good schools and shopping areas.

Main duties of the job

Provide clear and effective leadership for community nursing staff to promote the highest possible clinical standards. Work with clinicians to evaluate data collection and audit professional practice . Identify training needs and co-ordinate relevant training programmes to meet individuals and service delivery targets. Organise professional induction programmes, updating of clinical practice and provide teaching sessions where appropriate.  To teach formally and informally, on areas of evidence-based practice and develop systems to monitor and support the supervision and appraisal of junior staff in all aspects of nursing care. Work closely with area managers and the nursing directorate to ensure service development is planned in accordance with local/national priorities and identified best practice. Review ways of working to ensure staff are able to work effectively in line with the clinical governance frameworks and the service modernisation agenda. Lead on or contribute to the development and review of community nursing policies, procedures, guidelines, and standards ensuring implementation of evidence-based policies/guidelines and protocols. Ensure quality systems and essence of care are in place to support the quality agenda and be responsible for collating evidence and information relating to the health care standards.
