Hours: Part Time 16 hours per week across 2 days
Location of post: Fresh Start based at Croeserw Community Centre, Bryn Siriol, Cymmer, Port Talbot SA13 3PL. (part of Bspoked)
We are currently looking for an Employment and Work Projects Trainer to join our team.
The successful candidate will be responsible for –
Supporting adults with learning disabilities and/or mental health needs to build skills and knowledge which support their everyday life.Promoting independence, well-being, and resilience so individuals may achieve their chosen goals.Enabling individuals to experience inclusiveness within the community, through positive opportunities, voluntary work and/or paid work.Taking a person-centred approach in enabling individuals overcome barriers which prevent them from living their lives as independently as possible.The main duties of the post include;
To implement and support structured learning such as Training by Systematic Instruction (TSI)To provide structured learning and on the job coaching in specific work related activities.To key-work individuals and be the main point of contact and form productive working relationships with parents/carers and other relevant professionals, where you will be responsible for providing information on the individuals progress and general well-being.To agree objectives within the review system and assist in the monitoring of agreed plans.To provide supervision and support to the Assistant Employment and Works Project Trainers.To take part in all training and development as required by management and to achieve NVQ Level in Care and work based qualification.To transport service users, as requested.To ensure that all risk assessments are completed promptly and are adhered too in accordance with the departments health and safety requirementsTo prepare and teach service users to work affectively, to enable them to pursue employment opportunities. To contribute to the development of the service.You will have experience in/of;
A minimum of two years’ experience in teaching or training people with disabilities
Experience of the planning, delivery and evaluation of training
Managing groups of learners with differing learning needs
To undertake task analysis of particular jobs and to break these into small achievable learning objectives
The ability to provide training to service users in a variety of work settings.
The ability to supervise the activities of service users to enable them to fulfil work orders
The ability to work and effectively train people with disabilities or mental health needs
Ideally you will have;
Minimum of an NVQ level 3 / Advanced Craft Relevant Teaching or training qualification e.g. teacher training, PTTLS, EATs or equivalentHave a willingness to complete training as soon as possible to fulfil the requirements above.This service aims to increase opportunities for people with disabilities and / or mental health needs to have experience in engaging in work and work related training. This includes both voluntary or non-paid work and paid employment.
The opportunities and training supported by the service aim to enhance and develop individual skills within a positive risk enabling framework.
The service will support people to live, contribute and develop valued roles and relationships within their communities that; encourage naturally occurring support networks to be developed with employers.
