Job summary

We are seeking an experienced self-motivated, hardworking person who works to a high professional standard and is used to working on their own initiative.

Applicants should be able to communicate effectively with a wide range of people including all levels of hospital staff and patients. You should have excellent communication skills and organisational skills. You must be able to work as part of a team, be able to manage your own workload, use your own initiative, work to tight deadlines, and have the ability to work under pressure and be committed to providing an efficient service for our patients.

This is a part time post hours.

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate must be able to provide a comprehensive administrative/secretarial service to the Gender Identity Development Service within Leeds Childrens Hospital.

The post holder must be able to communicate sensitively and effectively with a wide range of people including patients, families, medical staff, and the wider multi-disciplinary team and have experience of typing.

Leeds Childrens Hospitals is one of the largest teaching hospitals in Europe and caters to every paediatric sub-specialty under one roof. It also has close links with the adult hospital, within the same building, which enables smooth transition of care from paediatrics to adults.

This will be a state-of-the-art childrens hospital and a centre of excellence, not only within the UK, but internationally.

JOB PURPOSE

To provide administrative and clerical support to the Gender Identity Development Service.

JOB DIMENSIONS

The postholder will be responsible for the provision of a full and effective administrative and clerical support service to the Gender Identity Development Service. He/she will be responsible for inputting data and attending meetings. The post holder will prepare and reception Outpatient clinics and support chaperoning patients in clinic. The postholder will be expected to arrange and plan her/his own work on a day-to-day basis within the overall demands and priorities of the department.

GCSE in English and Maths or equivalent Must be willing to attend relevant training courses
