Bath, United Kingdom Royal United Hospitals Bath NHS Foundation Trust Full time

Job summary

The Cardiology department at the RUH delivers care to the population of Bath and the surrounding areas, providing a wide range of diagnostics and treatments. The department hosts a wide range of extremely skilled and friendly staff, working together to provide quality care to patients and their support network.

This role will fit into the team by supporting a patient's access to quality and timely care within the Cardiac Catheterisation Labs, where emergency patients are received from A&E while having heart attacks. The Lab also provides coronary stenting and pacemaker implants amongst other exciting procedures. They will be fulfilled from working with a multidisciplinary team to plan lists, ensuring the right patient is seen by the right clinician, and treated at the right time against RTT guidelines.

There will be opportunity to develop first line management skills, including management of rosters, performance, sickness and appraisals through close working with the Cardiology Administration Manager and Specialty Manager for Cardiology.

Main duties of the job

Maintain accurate directorate waiting lists and patient records. This includes inputting registration and waiting list data onto the Trust's computer systems and ensuring that Millennium is up to date with any details relevant to the patient's admission. Support the achievement of the Trust's/National waiting list targets by effective management of the primary target list. NB primary target list = a list/volume of patients who require treatment in chronological order before a given date. Act as a point of contact for teams, dealing and responding effectively with complex queries, passing on relevant information to appropriate team members sensitively and autonomously. Provide formal first line management to the administrative team for sickness, performance and appraisals. Undertake recruitment to vacant positions as they arise.
