Job summary

Due to expansion in our workforce, this is a brand-new exciting opportunity at 8B level to join our dedicated group of psychological professionals working with older people's teams across Leeds. This post is based in the north of the city with CMHT services. You will take a key role in leading developments for older people within the older peoples community transformation model. Working with the Consultant Clinical Psychologist and team of psychological practitioners including new roles such as Mental health Well Being practitioners you will contribute to delivering high quality care within secondary care CMHT's in Leeds as we strengthen pathways across primary care and partnership organisations.

This role involves providing specialist therapy within one CMHT locality and closely supporting teams with supervision, management, formulation, training and increasing psychological thinking and a trauma informed approach.

Your role will also focus on leading and developing group work initiatives, service user involvement and ensuring a specialist focus on access in key areas for older people including complex psychosis, complex emotional needs and disordered eating services paying attention to health inequalities.

Main duties of the job

The psychological professions workforce is supported by a Deputy Director of Psychological Professions and professional Leads and there is a dedicated peer support group for 8bs across the organisation facilitated by an experienced Consultant Clinical Psychologist.

Job description

Job responsibilities

In this role you will:

- lead developments with our older peoples community transformation model inputting to specific CMHTs across Leeds to strengthen pathways across primary care and partnership organisations with our secondary care provision.

- Provide specialist therapy interventions to clients with a broad range of mental health issues referred into secondary CMHT.

- Provide and coordinate clinical supervision to other staff across the psychological professions.

- Take responsibility for line management of some psychological practitioners in older peoples services.

- Facilitate team formulation with guidance and support for team members regarding psychological approaches to care plans

- Input into training initiatives as required for LYPFT staff and through links with the Psych programme at the University of Leeds.

- Support psychological thinking and the development of a trauma informed culture within community services in LYPFT.

- Lead new initiatives and coordinate groupwork development within CMHTs.

- Support the development of new focus areas within community transformation as we coordinate increased access for older people across specialist service areas including complex emotions needs, disordered eating and complex psychosis services.

Person Specification

Qualifications

Essential

Doctoral level training in Clinical or Counselling Psychology (or equivalent prior to 1996) and HCPC registration; Or Postgraduate Diploma qualification in Cognitive and/or Behavioural Psychotherapy AND Accreditation with BABCP as a CBT therapist. With either a prior core profession or via KSA route. Or Masters or above in a psychotherapy and accredited as a psychotherapist with UKCP or BPC (British Psychoanalytic Council)
