Lead Psychologist for Older Adult Services

Position Overview
We are excited to announce a new opportunity for a Lead Psychologist specializing in Clinical, Counselling, or Forensic Psychology within our dedicated team focused on older adult mental health services. This role is pivotal in enhancing the quality of psychological care provided to older individuals, particularly within community mental health teams.
Key Responsibilities
As a Lead Psychologist, your primary responsibilities will include:
- Driving advancements in our community transformation model for older adults, ensuring effective collaboration with various mental health teams.
- Delivering specialized therapeutic interventions to clients experiencing a wide range of mental health challenges.
- Providing and overseeing clinical supervision for fellow psychological practitioners.
- Managing a team of psychological professionals dedicated to older adult services.
- Facilitating team discussions to enhance psychological approaches in care planning.
- Contributing to training programs for staff, in partnership with local educational institutions.
- Promoting a trauma-informed culture within community services.
- Leading initiatives and coordinating group therapy development within mental health teams.
- Enhancing access to specialized services for older adults, focusing on complex emotional needs and other critical areas.
Qualifications
To be considered for this role, candidates must possess:
- A Doctoral degree in Clinical or Counselling Psychology, or equivalent qualifications, with current HCPC registration.
- Alternatively, a Postgraduate Diploma in Cognitive and/or Behavioural Psychotherapy with BABCP accreditation, or a Master's degree in psychotherapy accredited by UKCP or BPC.
Training and Experience
Essential qualifications include:
- Significant post-qualification training relevant to the role.
- Formal training and experience in supervising other professionals.
- Extensive post-qualification experience in a relevant practice area, including risk assessment.
