Job responsibilities

Hours: 15 hours per weekSalary: £22,880 with progression to £23,920 per annumLocation: Sheffield Autism HubOur Service opening hours are as follows:Sunday: 5pm - 8:30pm - Virtual supportMonday: 10am - 2pm - Working from Bank StreetTuesday: 11am-2pm - Working from Bank StreetWednesday: 10am - 2pm - Working from Bank Street The service aims to provide accessible support to, autistic people aged 16 and above, and their (informal) carers and families. The service offers both face to face and virtual support. Providing information, advice, and opportunities to connect with community groups, in a welcoming and safe environment. Working closely with other partners and VCSE groups, the service ensures autistic people in Sheffield, have increased access to services and support in their community; and feel better supported, with more of their individual needs met as a result of accessing the provision. About youYou will have experience or knowledge of working with autistic individuals and community services, whether through lived experience or work. You will have experience of communicating with people who have challenges around their autistic diagnosis or support with their needs in a supportive and beneficial way and be able to demonstrate a proactive and positive attitude. You will be able to demonstrate careful listening and a non-judgemental attitude working with people to understand their needs and aspirations. You will be able to support people's self-management (that is, the actions people can do to take care of themselves and gain control over their own lives) and be able to place the person at the heart of their own support, working alongside them to achieve their goals.
