Job summary

We are looking for a skilled Administrator to join our Continence Service based in Canterbury.

We aim to provide the 'gold standard' of service in all that we do; from administrative to telephone tasks.

You will be at the forefront of our service, representing the team, assisting our patients and our clinicians.

Main duties of the job

You'd be responsible for supporting the team with all the administrative sides of our service. You will be required to process requests with accuracy, send letters to clients inviting them to make appointment and manage all telephone calls with respect and kindness.

You'll need to be a great communicator who's confident on the phone and in person. You'll also need good written skills for letters and emails.

Confident IT skills are a must as you will be accessing lots of different systems throughout the day.

You'll also need to demonstrate how you manage conflicting demands on your time as there may be lots of times you'll need to multi-task.

Additional Working Pattern: 8am to 4pm or 9am to 5pm.

Person Specification

Qualifications

Essential

Level 3 qualification ( 2 A/AS levels, NVQ level 3, BTEC diplomas, certificates and awards, international Baccalaureate diploma) or equivalent demonstrable experience

Desirable

NVQ Level 3 Business Administrator, Customer Service Specialist or Team Leader or Supervisor

Experience

Essential

Administrative experience, Experience of team working and versatility to take on a variety of tasks

Desirable

NHS administrative experience, Experience of handling confidential information, Supervision of staff, Experience of working with members of the public

Knowledge

Essential

Advanced knowledge and understanding of Microsoft Office packages Outlook, Word, Excel and Powerpoint

Desirable

Understanding of health and social care sector, including working knowledge of NHS structures, policies and processes

Skills and Abilities

Essential

Excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills both on telephone and in person with patients, members of the public and colleagues, Excellent written communication skills, Ability to communicate and work effectively with a wide range of people from different backgrounds at all levels of seniority, Excellent attention to detail, accuracy and organisational skills
