Business Administration Apprentice - Salford Quays

Marlowe Fire & Security are going through an incredibly exciting period of growth and hope to expand on their future talent with the introduction of a number of Business Administration Apprentices; our apprentices will be based at our Head Office in Salford Quays for 80% of the week whilst studying for 20% during the initial 18 months until your Level 3 qualification is gained (4 days in the office/1 day in the classroom).

Entry to Business

During your initial 18 months apprenticeship, you will rotate your time between 4 business-critical departments gaining hands-on experience and valuable understanding of cross-functioning departments which create the backbone of any business: Customer Accounts, Billing, Scheduling & Customer Care.

Future Development

Following the successful completion of your Level 3 Business Administration Qualification, Marlowe Fire & Security can help you define your future development by opening doors into various internal departments, subject to where you hope to see your career taking you. This can be either further education via one of our chosen external course providers, or via internal training & development delivered by Marlowe Academy. We have a dedicated In-House Learning & Development Team focused on supporting your career aspirations.

Possible internal development opportunities include but are not exclusive to: Team Leader/Supervisory Roles, Commercial opportunities, Systems Support, Bids Quotations, Marketing, Sales, HR and Project Management….

Our Business Administration Apprentices

As a Business Administration Apprentice, you will be responsible for providing administrative support to various departments within Marlowe Fire & Security. You will assist with tasks such as data entry, document management, scheduling meetings, and supporting the team with day-to-day operations.

Daily database management of open Engineering jobs Pricing and invoicing generation Assist with document management and filing Submission of customer reports Uploading invoices to customer invoicing portals Log & retrieve phone and email communications. Management of customer queries and complaints through to completion Processing of orders to ensure all work is carried out and invoice created. Cost & close all jobs for invoicing in accordance with customer requirements. Communicate well with internal departments and external customers. Provide general administrative support to the team.

For this specific opportunity, we are looking for candidates who offer:

GCSE’s – minimum of Grade 4 in English & Maths IT Literate – familiarisation with Microsoft Packages such as Outlook, Word & Excel. Passionate about your future career and development – You don’t need a specific career path in mind, we can support you in discovering that and finding your inner talents, we just need your passion, ambition and dedication. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to multitask and prioritise. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. A positive and proactive attitude. You must live within a commutable distance to Salford Quays for both office and classroom work. Good time management; our office-hours are Monday – Friday 8:30 – 17:00, good time management and attendance is a must.

Online Assessments: All candidates will be asked to submit 3 short online assessments; Maths, Verbal Reasoning & Workplace Personality.

Assessment Centre: We run an assessment centre for all potential apprentices to take part in. This is a fun day, with group and individual activities throughout. This gives our potential apprentices the opportunity to understand a little more about our business, how we work, meet the teams and team leaders, recognise how the teams work together, whilst allowing us to see your workplace personality shine through. This will take place on Monday 24th June 2024.

Screening: As we work in the security industry, we conduct background screening for all successful applicants who accept an employment opportunity with our business; this includes checks such as right to work in the UK, proof of address, confirmation of previous employment or education etc. - Don't worry, we will guide you through all of the information required for this screening.

Start Dates: Our induction date for this apprenticeship opportunity is Monday 9th September 2024. It is mandatory that you are able to commence your employment on that date and be available all week for your induction into our business and college. Unfortunately, if you are unavailable that week, we won’t be able to proceed with your application on this occasion.
