The role

 

Your role as a Capacity Manager in our Planning Services function will be to support London Stansted airport with technical guidance and expertise on how to optimise the use of its resources and facilities, with specific focus on our transformation programmes.

 

You will lead the delivery of an annual 5-year capacity assessment that aligns with the commercial and operational goals of the airport, as well as the regulatory and customer requirements.

 

You will also identify priority areas for analysis and work closely with the Capacity Planners/Analysts to ensure consistency and quality of the capacity planning methods and tools. Additionally, you will act as the main liaison between the group’s other airports (Manchester & East Midlands) to solve short-term and medium-term capacity challenges.

 

Furthermore, you will assist the Head of Capacity Planning in maintaining the best practices and standards for capacity planning across Stansted airport and group wide, including developing and refining analytical processes and tools.

 

What will make you successful in the role?

 

To be successful in this role, you will need to have a solid background in airport capacity planning, with relevant qualifications and/or extensive experience in this field. You will also need to have strong communication and facilitation skills, as well as the ability to engage with various stakeholders  at all levels and balance their needs effectively and able to present complex information in a concise manner. You will be proficient in using Microsoft Office Tools, especially Excel and Power BI, and ideally have some experience with CAST Terminal and/or CAST Stand Allocation.

 

You will have a good understanding of the airport industry, operations, customers, and regulations, and be able to apply your analytical reasoning skills to solve problems and generate solutions.

 

You will be proactive, curious, and keen to learn new things, and demonstrate enthusiasm for innovation and change. You will also have a strong commercial acumen and awareness of the current business environment and challenges.

 

It is highly desirable that you have at least 5 years of experience in a strategic planning role in an airport or similar organisation, where you have conducted and managed planning and analytical studies.
