This post offers the opportunity to provide highly specialised clinical psychology services to adults with learning disabilities with complex psychological needs, challenging behaviour, autism and high risk/forensic presentations. The post-holder will be instrumental in supporting the development of a psychologically minded workforce and will work within an integrated multi-professional health and social care team. The service is an innovative service and offers a hospital avoidance unit for people experiencing a period of crisis due to their learning disability needs. The postholder will be part of a wider psychology team who sit across our five learning disability community teams.

The post holder will work within the Learning Disability Crisis Response Unit predominately on the Radcliffe site within the borough of Bury and will also work across the footprint of Pennine Care as the clinical lead for the newly established service. Our new service aims to provide a therapeutic model of care to people aged 16-25 years with a Learning Disability with or without Autism who are experiencing a period of crisis by the provision of a service to reduce hospital admissions and offer of a de-escalation role of the Principal Psychologist postholder includes the responsibility for the promotion, management and implementation of a psychologically informed model of care. The postholder will provide support, clinical leadership and guidance within the multi-disciplinary teams around the delivery of a trauma informed postholder will spend an allocation of their time in providing support to the care hubs Consultant Clinical Psychologist in their role as the lead for practitioner psychologists working within the Learning Disabilities care new service will be offered to people with a learning disability with or without autism across the geographical footprint of Greater learning disabilities care hub consists of community learning disability teams spread across the five localities of Pennine Care (Bury, Oldham, Rochdale, Tameside and Stockport) primarily to adults aged 18+ years and with some provision to children and young people. The postholder will take an active role in working with the teams in service development and engagement by supporting:Service improvementsDevelopment and delivery of trainingConducting research, audit and evaluation.Development of treatment pathways
The post holder will work to support the wider clinical activities of psychologists within the care hub and provide cover and support across the localities in the event of staff absence. The post holder will provide clinical supervision duties to both qualified and unqualified psychologists. The post holder will also play an active role in the promotion of psychology and representation of practitioner psychologists across the care hub and wider systems

Education / Qualifications
Essential
Post-graduate doctoral level training in clinical psychology, (or its equivalent for those trained prior to 1996) as accredited by the BPS. Current registration as a clinical psychologist with the Health and Care Professions Council.
Desirable
Completion of further post qualification training within psychological therapies ( DBT, CBT, CAT, CFT, MBT etc.).
Experience
Essential
Demonstrable post qualification experience of specialist assessment and treatment of adult clients and those with psychological difficulties in an inpatient setting. Experience of working with people with a learning disability. Demonstrable post qualification experience of working with complex mental health problems, including distressing psychosis, problems associated with complex relational and emotional needs, and severe depression, anxiety and trauma. Demonstrable experience of working with people experiencing a suicidal crisis. working within inpatient adult multidisciplinary teams Experience of clinical leadership within a previous role Demonstrable experience of providing clinical supervision to psychologists, psychological therapists or other core health professions. Demonstrable experience of providing teaching/ training upon clinical interventions. Demonstrable experience of managing demand for psychological services within a form of stepped-care framework ( an approach based upon the provision of direct care, and supporting other professionals in their provision of direct psychosocial work.

Awareness of the principles of a trauma informed care approach Familiarity with computing technology, including keyboard skills, and use of word-processing, e-mail, and internet software.
