Canopius Finpro is an established, well-regarded, and highly successful underwriting team. We are seeking to recruit an experienced, ambitious, and outwardly-focused individual who wishes to build a career at a top-tier Lloyd’s Syndicate. The role involves underwriting both Financial Institutions, and Commercial D & O risks. The successful candidate will enjoy working in a supportive, and collegiate atmosphere as they grow, and develop as an underwriter.

Main Responsibilities:

Underwrite accounts allocated from existing renewal portfolio, ensuring timely quotations, and meeting reasonable broker deadlines Actively produce, and convert new business opportunities in accordance with our stated risk appetite Interact, and liaise with other (internal) departments – e.g. Claims, Compliance, Legal, and Finance Demonstrate appropriate, consistent and complete consideration of customer (policyholder) interests, throughout our business, on a continuous basis. Ensure that the FCA principle of treating customers fairly (TCF) is applied in those areas of the business within the jobholder’s responsibility.

Skills and Experience:

Ability to exercise sound underwriting judgment based upon detailed risk analysis Contribute to long-term success of the overall business in planning, organisation and development Confident, and good communication skills Solid working knowledge of Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook Sound knowledge of developments within FI and D & O classes – technical, and legal Working knowledge of the Lloyd’s market Underwriting, or broking experience in Financial Institutions and/or Commercial D & O Maintain and develop own professional knowledge/qualifications/training as identified
