The Transpennine Route Upgrade Project (TRU) is a circa £2 billion multi-disciplinary project upgrading the existing railway route between Manchester and Leeds through the Pennines. It is the largest rail and infrastructure project in the north of England. 

Reporting to the Head of Civils, the Senior Quality Manager at BAM Nuttall, within the TRU West alliance, holds a strategic leadership role responsible for shaping and executing the overarching quality strategy across BAM Nuttall’s TRU West projects.

Your mission
  • Contribute to alliance-wide initiatives focused on elevating quality standards and project outcomes.
  • Develop and lead the strategic vision for quality management for BAM Nuttall in TRU West projects.
  • Establish and oversee a comprehensive quality assurance framework spanning all project phases.
  • Provide visionary leadership to quality teams, fostering a culture of accountability and excellence
  • Collaborate across project teams, alliance partners, and internal departments to drive quality initiatives.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for quality-related matters, both internally and with alliance partners.
  • Communicate quality strategy, progress, and insights to senior management and stakeholders
  • Analyse quality data to identify trends, opportunities for enhancement, and areas for process optimisation.
  • Conduct regular audits and reviews to assess the implementation of quality measures and alignment with standards.
  • Lead quality collaboration efforts within the TRU West alliance, sharing best practices and benchmarking best quality approaches.
  • Define quality objectives, KPIs, and initiatives aligned with BAM Nuttall's overarching goals.
  • Identify potential risks to project quality and implement robust risk mitigation strategies.
  • Ensure adherence to quality regulations, standards, and client requirements.
  • Initiate improvement projects to elevate overall quality, efficiency, and effectiveness.
  • Ensure that quality standards are consistently met across all BAM Nuttall TRU West projects.
Who are we looking for?
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field.
  • Chartered Quality Professional
  • Extensive experience in quality management, with a proven track record in leadership roles.
  • Deep understanding of quality methodologies, standards, and regulations.
  • Exceptional leadership skills with the ability to motivate and mentor quality teams.
  • Strong analytical skills to derive insights from quality data and drive informed decisions.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills for effective stakeholder engagement.
  • Proficiency in quality management software and tools to streamline processes.
  • Problem-solving orientation with the capability to navigate complex quality challenges.
