Job summary

The role includes face to face interaction with serviceusers. They will an excellent telephone manner to deal with the wide range ofqueries presenting on a day to day basis. They will be required to carry outadmin/clerical duties which form an important and much valued part of therunning of the organisation.

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will be required to work atreception and on telephones, actioning the various enquiries from service usersand other visitors.

You will be expected to undertake clerical work such as,patient registrations, documents processing, data entry to name but a few.

We are a growing practice with over 15,000 patients in thedynamic area of Docklands in Tower Hamlets. The practice has a strongconnection with the community. We have a supportive team consisting of 10 GP's,2 Practice Nurse's, 2 HCA's and Patient Navigator team of 11. We supportprofessional development and training inhouse and through externalopportunities.

Job responsibilities

To provide receptionist/administrative service in anefficient manner for all patients and visitors to the Practice, in order tofacilitate effective access to healthcare for patients.

To promote a helpful and supportive image of the practice atall times in line with the Practices commitment to the highest possiblestandards of patient care.

To carry out general clerical duties and other relateddelegated duties considered appropriate to the post as directed.

To work as part as a team to ensure reception runs smoothly.

Person Specification

Experience

Essential

- Customer service - Computer Literate -Excellent telephone manner

Desirable

- Working in a GP practice - Experience with software systems such as Emis, eRS, Microsoft packages.

Qualifications

Essential

English and Maths GCSE A to C 1 year experience of working in a health care setting

Desirable

Experience in Primary Care Setting Experience of EMIS web Knowledge of local area Bilingual
