We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Health Visitor with current Specialist Community Public Health Nursing registration to join our Health Visiting team in Newton Stewart, on a Fixed Term basis from July 2024 for a period of 9 months.

We are looking for a candidate with experience and understanding of the needs of children and families, and a good knowledge of Scotland’s Public Health agenda, including Getting it Right for Every Child, The Promise, and the Children and Young People’s Act 2014. Candidates will work in partnership with families, local authorities and a range of stakeholders to deliver high quality, evidence based person-centred care. Candidates will be required to utilise a strengths based approach to engage families, be able to identify risks and have experience of co-ordinating complex plans of care for children.

NHS Dumfries and Galloway offer opportunities for career development, management and public protection supervision; as well as regular training opportunities.
The post will involve home visits to remote and rural areas; therefore a current driving licence is essential. However, if you have a disability which precludes you from holding a driving licence, consideration will be given if alternative transport can be arranged.
