ABOUT THE ROLE:

We are looking for a Hygiene Area Operations Leader to join our #WeAreMcCain family.

 

It would be your role to organise and oversee deployment of materials and labour to carry out scheduled and specialist cleaning across site and production areas, including production equipment internally and externally as required , as well as:

 

  • Take ownership of department performance to ensure high standards of sanitation across the plant; scheduled and non scheduled cleaning tasks to the fabric of the buildings and associated equipment 

  • Follows safe use and storage of hazardous substances in line with company policy  

  • Ensure all records and documentation are completed and correctly stored in line with procedural requirements to maintain accurate and robust due diligence 

  • Carry out basic maintenance checks on high pressure cleaning equipment and associated equipment across production areas, carry out non electrical basic repairs to this equipment. Repairs/ replaces wash down hoses and associated equipment across production areas and site 

  • Carry out any reasonable additional duties as and when requested 

  • Ensure your our personal safety and that of all personal including others who may be affected by the Company’s activities 

  • Challenge unsafe behaviours 

  • Adhere to the duties required for your role within the Health and Safety policy 

  • Promote and enforce behaviours and actions that will prevent all contamination threats to products whether physical, microbial or chemical 

  • Escalate immediately reporting on the status of any non-compliance in the system or process to management for counter measure or immediate remedy

We are looking for someone who can really make a difference to our plant, who brings experience of working in a team, the ability to work closely with their manager, and who has a real ability to bring people along a change journey with them.

You must also have…

 

  • Previous experience coaching and developing people 
  • Health & Safety involvement  
  • Food Manufacturing Supervisor experience  
  • A keen eye for continuous improvement and who will strive to find areas to enhance our line operations within our plant.
  • The ability to work at pace, without jeopardising quality and standards.
  • A team player who can play towards creating our winning culture.
  • A passion for quality with an eye for detail.

You’ll be based at our Scarborough plant in North Yorkshire. We opened this plant back in the swinging sixties, but it’s definitely not stuck in the past. It’s one of the largest French fry factories in the world and after a recent development, it’s also one of the most high tech. Our team of over 300 colleagues work hard to make sure the quality of our products keep our customers returning for more, for now and years to come
