Building Control Surveyor

JobTitle: Building ControlSurveyor.
- Preapplication advice to both building professionals andnonprofessionals.
- Planappraisal of all industrial commercial and residential applicationsto ensure compliance with all relevantregulations.
- Negotiatewith applicants and/or their agents to bring aboutamendments/improvements to their applications resulting in anapproval beingissued.
- IssueBuilding Regulation approvals and/orrejections.
- Sitesurveys to establish construction is in compliance with thebuilding Regulations and alliedlegislation.
- Siteinvestigation/surveys relating to Applications including providingtechnical support and general advice to the applicants and theirbuilders to ensure compliance with the BuildingRegulations.
- Recordall site inspections and plan vetting details in a manner whichwill limit liability upon the Council in accordance with theBuilding Control PerformanceStandards.
- Negotiatewith applicants and/or their agent builders and other professionalsto bring about amendments/alterations to the site work resulting inthe acceptable completion of aproject.
- Undertakethe satisfactory resolution of contraventions of the BuildingRegulations or where necessary instigate legalaction.
- Respondto enquiries from the public and Building Professionals and as aresult give guidance to enable them to achieve compliance withtheir chosen constructionmethodology.
- Respondto and take appropriate action when dangerous structures arereported. Liaise with and advise the Emergency Services with a viewto protecting their members and members of the public from danger.Where necessary issue enforcement notices requiring the removal ofa dangerousstructure.
- Consultwith statutory authorities and other governmentbodies.
- Checkcomplex structural thermal and acoustic calculations relating toindustrial commercial and domesticbuildings.
Requirements
- ExperiencedBuildingSurveyor
- Carryingout Plan Checks and Site Inspections authorisations andcompletions.
- Pleaseensure your CV s identify what Class you are registered to (E.g 2A2D etc..) as this will be relevant to any shortlisting ofcandidates.
