Spinwell Global Limited is seeking a qualified Building Control Surveyor for a significant role within the public sector.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE BUILDING CONTROL SURVEYOR

  • Provide pre-application guidance to both industry professionals and the general public.
  • Conduct thorough evaluations of all types of applications—industrial, commercial, and residential—to ensure adherence to relevant regulations.
  • Engage in negotiations with applicants and their representatives to facilitate necessary modifications to applications, leading to approvals.
  • Issue approvals or rejections in accordance with Building Regulations.
  • Perform site inspections to verify compliance with Building Regulations and related legislation.
  • Carry out site investigations related to applications, offering technical support and advice to ensure compliance.
  • Document all site inspections and plan evaluations to mitigate liability for the Council, adhering to Building Control Performance Standards.
  • Collaborate with applicants, builders, and other professionals to resolve issues and ensure project completion meets standards.
  • Address violations of Building Regulations and initiate legal proceedings when necessary.
  • Respond to public inquiries and provide guidance to assist in achieving compliance with construction methods.
  • Take appropriate actions in response to reports of dangerous structures.

Work closely with Emergency Services to ensure public safety and issue enforcement notices when required.


  • Liaise with statutory authorities and governmental bodies.
  • Review complex structural, thermal, and acoustic calculations for various building types.
  • Ensure that all inquiries related to Building Control are handled promptly and courteously.
