Job summary

This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic individual to work with in secondary mental health services with in a 'Day Resource Centre' setting.

We are looking for someone to join our team at Boundervean Resource Centre, Camborne to deliver groups with in the centre.

Ideally the successful applicant will have experience not only in working with individuals with Mental Health conditions and illnesses but also have experience in delivering groups such as:-

Creative Sessions/ Health and Well Being/ Drop In sessions

It is essential you have good communication skills.

Main duties of the job

The day to day running of the building - including reporting maintenance issues, liaising with contractors and room bookings. Work within the Clinical Support Team across the West Locality Establish and maintain effect contact with service users, their relatives and carers in order to ensure good communication. Give information and assistance to service users and their carers so that they are aware of their rights, entitlements from the team and wider health and social care community. Use of appropriate community resources appropriate to the needs of the service user. Practice in a way that actively minimises dependency and promotes recovery. Communicate information in a way that makes it relevant and understandable for service users and carers, working to the principles of the functions policy implementation guidelines and practice in line with the standards and values set out to them. Work with service users and their carers to access identified services. Monitor mental health and be aware of fluctuations in mental health through observations and report changes to the team practitioners so that service users are directed to appropriate services and risk is managed. Encourage social/physical activities as appropriate to the service user's needs. Participate in safeguarding children level 2 as set out in Safeguarding Children & Young People: roles and competencies for Health Care Staff. Participate in Safeguarding Adults as per Trust Policy

Education / qualification

Essential

NVQ3 in healthcare or equivalent qualification or experience. Must be willing to undertake relevant training IT literacy

Skills

Essential

Working with clients with a range of mental health problems. Good listening skills and ability to deal with complex information that the service user and care co-ordinator will share with them.

Desirable

Group Facilitation skills.
