We are seeking to appoint a dynamic and future focused Course Leader to oversee our sector-leading Games provision in BA Games Art & Design and BSc Games Development. The postholder will work closely with the Director of Computer Arts and Technology to advance and grow the vision of the disciplines at Norwich; debating and contributing to contemporary shifts in the industry and society more widely and addressing global issues. The role includes leadership, management and promotion of the awards; contributing to new course development in postgraduate and short courses areas; and working with industry bodies to advance the disciplines.

You will be an enthusiastic academic leader with vision, insight, commitment, and skills to further develop, deliver and promote Norwich’s Games provision. You will have substantial knowledge of the national and international games sector and experience in developing networks between education and industry. A background in an area directly related to the games industry and a national profile as a creative practitioner, industry professional and/or researcher is essential and you will have specialist subject knowledge in a relevant curriculum area such as: Concept Art, Asset Production, Indie / Games Development, Games programming, etc .You will have a strong network of industry partners and the ability to develop and deliver significant collaborative projects. Ideally, you will have experience of developing new courses, particularly postgraduate and short courses

The successful applicant will be an excellent teacher who puts inclusivity at the heart of their practice. You will be an advocate for the disciplines within games, promoting the courses to prospective students and teachers, both at home and internationally. You will have the ability to work closely with a variety of internal and external stakeholders, bringing diverse voices into our student experience and ensuring the support we give our students is culturally competent. You will have the ambition to equip students with the social and cultural capital that will allow them to confidently grasp graduate-level opportunities and challenges.

The successful applicant will demonstrate excellent skills in organisation, management, team building and evidence of enhancing student educational experience and outcomes. A collaborative and collegiate approach to leadership and teamworking is an essential attribute for this role, which will require working closely with colleagues from other courses and departments.
