Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen within Specialist Medicine Business Unit 2, at the Royal Derby Hospital site.

Working closely with the Diabetes Service , the purpose of this post is to act as the Lead Administrator to undertake the implementation and day to day management of Hybrid closed loop (HCL) technologies, the next phase of technical advancement linking continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) and insulin pump technology to provide people living with type 1 diabetes with support 24 hours a day, with a view to ensuring a smooth and efficient service for patients throughout their treatment and follow up care.

The post holder will have direct contact with patients, providing simple support, advice and signposting.

The successful candidate will also be required to track patient pathways, under the supervision of the Clinical Team.

Main duties of the job

o To act as the central point of contact for both patients and diabetes technology companies, providing a high standard of administrative support in the delivery of the NICE technology Appraisal for Hybrid Closed Loop technology.

o Responsible for effective communication across all boundaries to ensure the delivery of a comprehensive diabetes technology administration service.

o Day to day management of the administration team incorporating efficient planning and daily organisation of the team.

o To ensure all enquiries are effectively managed and successfully resolved within a prompt timescale, ensuring all relevant personnel are informed as necessary and an appropriate record is maintained.

o Undertake general administration duties in respect of diabetes technology service diary management and organising associated activities/paperwork - including arrangement of meetings, database maintenance, taking meeting notes and producing agendas/minutes

o Plan and implement the delivery of diabetes technologies, to ensure an efficient and timely output within diabetes, to assist in achievement of quality and audit standards.

o Awareness and understanding of sensitive information, ensuring strict confidentiality at all times.
