Role Purpose:

An integral member of the Planning Team with ownership for optimising the movement of product between bakeries and overseeing weekly plans to ensure quality & service targets are met whilst optimising the primary logistics cost base

You will be responsible for Reviewing performance against plans to ensure future capacity requirements are in place to manage anticipated demand, agreeing corrective actions as necessary with the Operational & Commercial teams to ensure targets can be met.

The successful candidate will be the supply chain lead in project meetings which have a primary logistics requirement working closely with both bakery and head office teams.

You will also assist the ‘Tactical Planning Managers’ to optimise the network and drive continuous improvement activities with key stakeholders through to implementation.

Responsibilities:

Agree the weekly base transport requirement plans on a monthly basis with the bakeries Build the necessary plans to deliver the anticipated demand, communicate and agree these plans with the bakeries/RDCs Execute the plan: Inter Bakery - maintain and review the weekly planning spreadsheet to optimise performance and resolve issues were necessary. Collaborate with site and central planning teams as required. Escalation of customer-facing issues to Supply Chain & Commercial stakeholders. Communicate and implement agreed action plans. Service: Identify and implement actions in collaboration with bakery & head office teams Oversee weekly activity & performance reporting. Deliver key capacity events such as Christmas, Easter, plant outages, product launches & promotions, ensuring these events are incorporated into the ‘Week Ahead’ planning processes. Assist the Tactical Planning Managers to achieve the weekly plans

Ideal Experiences / Qualifications / Capabilities:

Essential:

Can do attitude 3+ years supply chain experience in FMCG – ideally food transportation IT & spreadsheet literate with experience of SAP Strong communication and interpersonal skills – ability to influence and persuade Ability to build strong working relationships Results-oriented, resilient and highly motivated

Desirable:

Operational planning role within FMCG environment Previous transport capacity planning experience Delivery of change management programmes
