Learning Support Worker at Stamford College

  • Hourly rate: £11.90 per hour
  • Holiday pay: £1.44 per hour (paid in addition to your hourly rate)
  • Term-time only: You will work during the academic year (no need to work during school holidays).
  • Working hours: 09:00 – 16:30 (exact days based on the role)
  • Immediate start: We are looking for candidates to begin as soon as possible.

Stamford College is seeking dedicated and compassionate Learning Support Workers to join their team and support students with Special Educational Needs (SEN). We have four roles available, with varying hours and days to suit different schedules. If you're passionate about making a difference in students' lives and have a desire to support learning, we'd love to hear from you

Positions Available:
  • 2 roles – 4 days per week
  • 1 role – 5 days per week
  • 1 role – 2 days per week
Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide one-on-one or small group support to students in lessons, assisting them with class activities and tasks.
  • Help students understand class instructions and engage with course material.
  • Encourage and assist students in developing life skills and independent learning.
  • Support lecturers in managing classroom activities and maintaining a positive learning environment.
  • Assist with personal care, where required.
  • Promote communication and social interaction between students, both in class and during other college activities.
Essential Skills & Experience:
  • Experience in a similar role or working with students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) is highly desirable.
  • A patient, supportive, and empathetic approach to working with young people.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work well as part of a team.
  • An understanding of how to support students to achieve their potential.
