Role responsibilities

The Senior Project Manager will be responsible for the management and delivery of the Multimodal Digital Customer Programme with a significant scope of work across the Transport for Wales (TfW) organisation.

Responsible for managing all aspects of delivery to time, quality and cost expectations of programmes and projects, by working with the Head of Multi-modal Transformation, Executive Leadership Team and Welsh Government to ensure the successful design the programme, implement governance, identify outcomes and realise strategic benefits. Provide a professional and effective project management service, including project governance, reporting, technical working groups and executive steering groups, in accordance with the required processes and timelines to ensure the projects are aligned to TfW processes and delivered to cost and quality. Responsible and accountable for planning and driving completion of all project deliverables including the project roadmap, budget, implementation and any handover of programme outputs into business as usual to ensure transformation projects are delivered to time, cost and quality. Lead the develop of delivery procedures by keeping abreast with changes to legislation and working with the supply chain to ensure TfW are using best practice methodologies. Manage and be responsible for organisational projects (and others where allocated) and accountable for budgets by liaising with the appropriate Finance Business Partner, escalating any variances where required to ensure costs remain within the agreed budget. 

Who we’re looking for

Demonstrable project management experience with a proven track record of successfully developing and delivering projects of significant value and complexity.  Extensive experience of working with local or national government and government agencies or regulated sectors to understand their challenges/drivers. Understanding of the political and commercial landscape. Demonstratable experience of leading on a variety of complex IT and Digital Services projects or programmes. Experience of budgeting and financial management.

Welsh Language Skills

The ability to speak/write Welsh would make a great addition to your application, but it is not essential for this role.
