Maths Graduate Teaching Assistant Position Available in Chorlton

Teaching Personnel is seeking an enthusiastic Maths Graduate Teaching Assistant to join an Ofsted-rated 'Good' secondary school in Chorlton. This full-time position is set to start ASAP and will continue until the end of the academic year, with the potential for the role to become permanent based on performance. The role offers a competitive weekly pay range of £419.25 - £500.

Role Overview:

As a Maths Graduate Teaching Assistant, you will be an integral part of the maths department, working closely with teachers and students to enhance the learning experience. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Student Support: Providing one-on-one and small group support to students, assisting them with understanding complex mathematical concepts and improving their academic performance.
  • Classroom Assistance: Supporting the classroom teacher in lesson delivery, managing classroom behavior, and maintaining a conducive learning environment.
  • Resource Preparation: Assisting in the preparation of teaching materials and resources to support lesson plans and make learning engaging and accessible.
  • Progress Monitoring: Tracking student progress, identifying areas where additional support is needed, and providing feedback to teachers to help tailor instruction to student needs.
  • Intervention Programs: Delivering targeted intervention programs to help students who are struggling with particular aspects of the maths curriculum.
  • Extra-Curricular Activities: Supporting extra-curricular activities and maths-related enrichment programs to foster a deeper interest in the subject.
  • Collaboration: Working collaboratively with teachers, the maths department, and other support staff to ensure the effective delivery of the curriculum and comprehensive support for students.

Requirements:

  • A degree in Mathematics or a related field.
  • A strong passion for education and a keen interest in helping students succeed in mathematics.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to explain complex mathematical concepts in a clear and accessible manner.
  • A proactive and flexible approach to working in a dynamic school environment.
  • Previous experience working with young people, either in a school setting or through tutoring, is beneficial but not essential.
