Position Overview:

In the capacity of a Mathematics Graduate Teaching Support, you will play a crucial role in assisting the Maths department in delivering exceptional educational experiences to students across different year groups. Your primary responsibilities will involve collaborating closely with educators to enrich the learning journey for students, particularly those who may need extra assistance in understanding fundamental mathematical principles.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Classroom Support: Aid Maths teachers during lessons by preparing educational resources, assisting with classroom management, and providing focused support to students facing challenges with the material.
  • Individual and Group Assistance: Engage with individual students or small groups to offer additional instruction and clarification on subjects covered in class. This may include helping students with their assignments, preparing them for assessments, or reinforcing difficult concepts.
  • Intervention Initiatives: Contribute to the execution of intervention sessions aimed at enhancing students' performance in Maths. These sessions are designed to help students build confidence in their mathematical skills and reach their academic goals.
  • Student Guidance: Foster positive relationships with students, providing support and advice not only in their academic pursuits but also in their overall school experience. You may also assist students who require extra motivation and encouragement to fully engage with their studies.
  • Resource Creation: Help in the development and organization of teaching materials, such as worksheets, presentations, and practice exercises. This ensures that lessons are well-structured and that students have the necessary tools to succeed.
  • Administrative Assistance: Support with grading student work, tracking progress, and maintaining accurate records of student achievements. This allows educators to concentrate more on lesson planning and delivery.
  • Extracurricular Engagement: Participate in the school's extracurricular offerings, particularly those related to Maths, such as clubs, competitions, or enrichment activities. This is an opportunity to nurture a passion for Maths beyond the classroom.
