A SHEQ Manager is required in a well-established Structural Steel Fabrication company based in North Yorkshire.

Position Type: Full Time
Start Date: Immediate
Salary Rate: £50,000 per annum
Location: Head Office

Quality Duties:
  • Represent HSL in the Principal Contractor's safety walk @ 10:00am.
  • Address, with the Site Managers, any issues arising from the safety walk.
  • Represent HSL in the PC's Site Safety walk feedback session @ 3:00pm
  • Undertake site audit to capture & document general and HSL observation (PC's requirement of 12 per week)
  • Provide H&S support on site during the day to the HSL Site Managers

Key Responsibilities:

  • Make sure we follow all SHEQ laws and standards.
  • Help Managers and Directors with their SHEQ responsibilities.
  • Be the main contact for agencies like HSE and the Environment Agency.
  • Create and update safe working procedures and systems.
  • Monitor SHEQ metrics and report on them.
  • Conduct internal audits and manage certifications.
  • Organize and maintain SHEQ training for employees.
  • Lead safety initiatives and handle PPE requirements.

Qualifications:

  • NEBOSH Diploma or Equivalent
  • Internal Auditor
  • Environmental Certificate (IEMA)
  • Lead Auditor
  • Experience with Lean Management

Skills Requirements:

  • Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities
  • Proficient with Office software
  • Experience in safety coaching and quality management
  • Experience in manufacturing or heavy industries

Experience:

  • At least 3 years in a similar role
  • 5+ years' experience in SHEQ management
