Sterling Recruitment Services is excited to present an exceptional opportunity for a Quality, Health, Safety, and Environment (QHSE) Manager to oversee our client's operations.


This role involves the management and coordination of all QHSE initiatives within the organization, particularly focusing on both production and installation environments.

Key responsibilities include ensuring compliance and auditing across various disciplines within the company.



KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Developing and sustaining comprehensive quality management systems.
  • Ensuring alignment of quality objectives with British Standards and contractual specifications.
  • Overseeing all fabrication processes in accordance with Factory Production Control (FPC) and UKCA marking requirements.
  • Creating Inspection and Test Plans (ITP) to meet all contractual obligations.
  • Administering and auditing fabrication, welding, and painting processes per BSEN 1090, 3834, and the National Steelwork Specification 7th Edition (NSSS 7th).
  • Acting as the management representative for all company standards and certifications.
  • Preparing and conducting Management Reviews for ISO 9001, 14001, and 45001.
  • Ensuring compliance with all relevant SHE legal requirements.
  • Serving as the primary contact for external parties related to SHEQ (HSE, Certification Bodies, Fire Service, and Environment Agency).
  • Developing and auditing safe work systems.
  • Maintaining and enhancing management system procedures and documentation.
  • Promoting a culture of SHEQ throughout the organization.
  • Ensuring a safe and healthy workplace.
  • Providing strategic direction for all SHEQ matters.
  • Offering support and guidance for all business activities concerning SHEQ.
  • Conducting Risk Assessments and reviewing existing assessments.
  • Performing and reviewing COSHH Assessments.
  • Leading Accident and Incident Investigations with a focus on root cause analysis.
  • Championing the company's safety conversation program.
  • Advising on method statements and safe work systems.
  • Tracking and reporting SHEQ performance metrics as necessary.
  • Chairing SHEQ Committee Meetings.
  • Staying informed on SHEQ-related legislative changes and communicating relevant updates to the board.
  • Conducting internal audits and inspections related to SHEQ in both factory and site environments.
  • Liaising with external organizations such as Fire Service, HSE, Environment Agency, Certification Bodies, and Clients as required.
  • Maintaining all management system documentation and electronic records.
  • Ensuring that all SHEQ certifications are upheld and improved in accordance with established policies.
  • Providing in-house training on various SHEQ topics.
  • Managing permit-to-work systems, contractor control, and conducting inductions and briefings.
  • Engaging with the workforce on various SHEQ issues.
  • Overseeing PPE selection and current arrangements on site.
  • Fostering a culture of continuous improvement in all aspects of SHEQ.
  • Supporting the provision of a safe and healthy working environment through encouragement and example.


Qualifications Required:
  • NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent.
  • Internal Auditor certification.

Qualifications Desired:
  • Environmental certification.
  • Training Qualification.
  • Lean Management expertise.

Experience Required:
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a QHSE role.
  • Experience in the engineering, manufacturing, or construction sectors.
