Specialist Paediatric Occupational Therapist

The Achieving for Children Paediatric Occupational Therapy Service is part of the Integrated Team for Children with Disabilities Service based at the Moor Lane Centre in Chessington, funded jointly by the Royal Borough of Kingston and NHS Kingston. The team provides a service to children and young people, aged 0 - 19, experiencing functional difficulties as a result of neurological or developmental difficulties. 

About the role

The Occupational Therapist will carry a specialist caseload of children and young people with a variety of complex physical, learning and social needs and be responsible for writing reports for Education Health Care Plans (EHCP) and multidisciplinary assessments/reviews. 

Our current vacancies are;

In our local Special Schools who provide an outstanding education service supporting children and young people aged 4 – 25 years who have a range of severe and complex physical and learning disabilities, Our local Specialist Resource Provisions based across both Kingston and Richmond boroughs supporting children and young people aged 4 – 11 years with social communication difficulties, Autism Spectrum Disorders and other neurodevelopmental conditions.

About you

Active HCPC registration and documented evidence of CPD (maintained portfolio) Significant experience of clinical assessment and intervention as an autonomous occupational therapist using standardised and non-standardised assessment tools  Knowledge of current best practice in paediatric OT and evidence of its application in assessment planning, implementing and evaluating treatment  A passion for Achieving for Children’s vision, mission and values (trust, value. respect) to support children and young people to live safe, happy, healthy and successful lives Personal determination, drive, energy and ambition to overcome and achieve challenging objectives, celebrate success and deliver excellent outcomes for children
