Complete Classroom Services are working with a **SEN Secondary School in Richmond**, who are dedicated to providing exceptional education and support to children with special educational needs. They are currently seeking a **Therapy Assistant** to join our team **as soon as possible**. This is an exciting opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of our students with autism and associated communication challenges, while supporting our **Occupational Therapists** and **Speech and Language Therapists** in session planning, delivery, and reporting.

As a **Therapy Assistant**, you will play a crucial role in supporting our Occupational Therapists and Speech and Language Therapists in providing therapy sessions to students with **autism and associated communication challenges.** Your responsibilities will include assisting with session planning, delivery, and reporting, as well as providing support to students during therapy sessions. This is an opportunity to work collaboratively with our therapy team to ensure the holistic development and well-being of our students.

Responsibilities of a **Therapy Assistant**:

- Assist Occupational Therapists and Speech and Language Therapists in planning therapy sessions for students with autism and associated communication challenges.
- Support the delivery of therapy sessions, providing assistance to students as needed.
- Collaborate with therapists to assess student progress and report on session outcomes.
- Provide support to students during therapy sessions, ensuring their comfort and engagement.
- Maintain accurate records of therapy sessions and student progress.
- Collaborate with colleagues to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment for students with special educational needs.

**The successful Therapy Assistant will have**:

- Previous experience working with children with autism and associated communication challenges is desirable.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a therapy team.
- Compassionate and patient nature, with a passion for supporting the well-being and development of students with special educational needs.
- Ability to follow therapy plans and assist with session delivery under the guidance of therapists.
- Positive attitude and willingness to contribute to the inclusive ethos of the school.
- Good references
- An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service.

You will be expected to hold or be willing to obtain Enhanced DBS check or Enhanced check for Regulated Activity with the Disclosure & Barring Services (previously the Criminal Records Bureau) and undergo due diligence checks on social media use.

All school-based staff have the responsibility for promoting the safeguarding and welfare of children. All school staff should be aware of the school’s Child Protection and Safeguarding Policy and work in accordance with this document at all times.

Pay: £90.00-£110.00 per day
