Newton Colmore is working with a drug discovery company in London, and we are assisting them with their search for a senior bioinformatician to join their research team. Because we are searching for a bioinformatician with highly specific skills, the role is open on seniority, and we are considering scientists that have recently finished a PhD, all the way to principal level.

In this exciting new role, you will be developing complex bioinformatic algorithms, databases and tools that will have a direct effect on the company's future research and development programmes. You will be working alongside data engineers and data analysts as a part of a multidisciplinary team, reporting directly to the head of the team.

As a bioinformatician in this team, you will be working on your own projects, and taking charge of them from start to finish. The first project you will be undertaking is of vital importance to the client with high visibility across the company. This will include using machine learning and deep learning algorithms on structural biology databases.

This is a great opportunity to join a company and make a real difference with your knowledge and experience, leading bioinformatics projects from day one.

We are looking for scientists who have developed code in Python coupled with experience in bioinformatics and ideally machine learning. This will be complemented with an understanding of either the PDB or AlphaFold databases.
