If so, Sandwell and West Birmingham NHS Trust are looking to recruit you in the role as a Health Visitor Supervision Lead(Specialist Community Public Health Nurse).

This is an exciting opportunity to join a team who passionately believe in the importance and effectiveness of supervision and practice support to improve the outcomes for children.

This is a demanding specialist role requiring high levels of professional skills, knowledge of safeguarding practice and the ability to work as part of a team.

Main duties of the job

You will:

Provide evidenced based practice supervision Participate in the identification and safeguarding of vulnerable children and families. Work collaboratively with families, health visitors and partner agencies Work closely with primary health and social care to respond topopulation needs Have anexcellent knowledge of safeguarding Besupportive and share knowledge to understanding of Early Help and safeguarding systems and processes Be influential to inspire change Becommitted to developing and transforming services

Person Specification

Experience

Essential

Extensive experience as a Health Visitor Significant experience in managing a caseload and safeguarding Extensive experience of working with multi-agency partners Knowledge and awareness of current safeguarding legislation related to safeguarding children and adults. Experience of escalation of identified concerns and risk management Experience in research and audit participation Experience of delivering supervision and/or leading action learning sets

Desirable

Experience of managing change at a service or team level Experience of setting up supervision within a department or service Experience of devising and delivering training packages Experience in root cause analysis in national or local investigations/reviews

Qualifications

Essential

Registered Nurse/Midwife with SCPHN qualification Evidence of continued professional development Leadership qualification and/or experience in Leadership Up to date evidence of safeguarding children and child protection training Evidence of skill sets either supervision training or counselling

Desirable

Child protection degree or diploma Further training in management or leadership Teaching qualification/practice assessor

Knowledge

Essential

Up to date knowledge of current NHS priorities and impact on children Working knowledge of clinical governance Working knowledge of safeguarding policies and procedures Knowledge of current health visiting/ public health issues and national programmes Knowledge and experience of clinical supervision

Desirable

Working knowledge of CQC/OFSTEAD or similar assurance inspection processes Knowledge and skills in evaluating outcomes of training
