We’re seeking a Project Engineer - Functional Safety to join our rapidly growing team. Reporting to our Project Engineer - Functional Safety, you will be responsible for working collaboratively with your Functional Safety and other engineering colleagues to perform various analyses and prepare other documentation in accordance with ISO 26262.

This pivotal role will operate in a hybrid capacity from our planned Leamington Spa, Bicester or Guildford location. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work alongside some of the most visionary minds in the automotive field.

What you’ll do

    • Delivering work products specified within the Functional Safety Plan in accordance with the Forseven processes.
    • Create HARAs, Safety Concepts, Safety Requirements, Test Specifications and other relevant documents/analyses.
    • Perform Confirmation Reviews, where appropriate.
    • Attend sub-system design reviews as necessary to resolve functional safety concerns.
    • Attend meetings with suppliers and Technical Partners as required, ensuring they are delivering in accordance with their Development Interface Agreement (DIA).
    • Perform system review, vehicle integration, verification & validation activities including Safety Goal Validation and other tests throughout the development lifecycle.
    • Support junior team members.

Who you are

  • Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Electronic or Automotive Engineering related degree, or equivalent experience. 
  • Knowledge of the structure and key concepts of ISO 26262.
  • Articulate, self-motivated, and keen to learn.
  • Dynamic and pro-active attitude to problem solving.
  • Passionate about vehicle functional safety and aware of the current automotive trends.
  • Knowledge of Hazard Analysis and Risk Assessment (HARA), FMEA and/or Fault Tree Analyses.
  • Awareness of ISO 21434 Cybersecurity
