South West Yorkshire Partnership Foundation Trust arerecruiting for a Specialty Doctor to join the South Kirklees OlderPeople Services based at Folly Hall Mills. This role plays a vital part inensuring our patients receive the care that they need and will be an integralrole within the OPS Community Team.

Person Specification

Qualifications

Essential

MB BS or equivalent medical qualification.

Desirable

Qualification or higher degree in medical education, clinical research or management. MRCPsych. Additional clinical qualifications.

Eligibility

Essential

Fully registered with the GMC with a licence to practise at the time of appointment. Spent a minimum of four years (full time or equivalent) in postgraduate training in the UK or equivalent training; at least two years training in adult, old age or liaison psychiatry.

Desirable

In good standing with GMC with respect to warning and conditions on practice. Approved under S12 OR able to achieve with 3 months of appointment. Experience working in other medical specialties including general medicine, geriatric medicine and A&E.

Experience

Essential

Excellent knowledge in specialty. Excellent clinical skills using bio-psycho-social perspective and wide medical knowledge. Excellent oral and written communication skills in English. Participate in continuous professional development. Participate in research or service evaluation.

Desirable

Wide range of specialist and sub-specialist experience relevant to post within NHS or comparable service. Able to plan and deliver undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and training relevant to this post. Evidence of achievement in education, research, audit and service improvement: awards, prizes, presentations and publications. Has led clinical audits leading to service change. Has cared for close family / friend with mental health needs.
