South West Yorkshire Partnership Foundation Trust are recruiting for a Specialty Doctor to join the South Kirklees Older People Services based at Folly Hall Mills. This role plays a vital part in ensuring our patients receive the care that they need and will be an integral role within the OPS Community Team.

Qualifications

Essential


  • MB BS or equivalent medical qualification.

Desirable


  • Qualification or higher degree in medical education, clinical research or management.
  • MRCPsych.
  • Additional clinical qualifications.

Eligibility

Essential


  • Fully registered with the GMC with a licence to practise at the time of appointment.
  • Spent a minimum of four years (full time or equivalent) in postgraduate training in the UK or equivalent training at least two years training in adult, old age or liaison psychiatry.

Desirable


  • In good standing with GMC with respect to warning and conditions on practice.
  • Approved under S12 OR able to achieve with 3 months of appointment.
  • Experience working in other medical specialties including general medicine, geriatric medicine and A& E.

Experience

Essential


  • Excellent knowledge in specialty.
  • Excellent clinical skills using bio-psycho-social perspective and wide medical knowledge.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English.
  • Participate in continuous professional development.
  • Participate in research or service evaluation.

Desirable


  • Wide range of specialist and sub-specialist experience relevant to post within NHS or comparable service.
  • Able to plan and deliver undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and training relevant to this post.
  • Evidence of achievement in education, research, audit and service improvement: awards, prizes, presentations and publications.
  • Has led clinical audits leading to service change.
  • Has cared for close family / friend with mental health needs.
