SPECIALTY DOCTOR IN OLDER PEOPLE SERVICES (SOUTH KIRKLEES)
Permanent, full time, 10 Programmed Activities per week plus on-call
(part time may be considered)
South West Yorkshire Partnership Foundation Trust are recruiting for a Specialty Doctor to join the South Kirklees Older People Services based at Folly Hall Mills. This role plays a vital part in ensuring our patients receive the care that they need and will be an integral role within the OPS Community Team.

The postholder will work in an experienced team of professionals, to ensure that all patients receive high quality care. We are a specialist NHS Foundation Trust that provides community, mental health and learning disability services for the people of Barnsley, Calderdale, Kirklees and Wakefield. We also provide low and medium secure services and are the lead for the west Yorkshire secure provider collaborative.

MB BS or equivalent medical qualification.


Qualification or higher degree in medical education, clinical research or management.
Spent a minimum of four years (full time or equivalent) in postgraduate training in the UK or equivalent training at least two years training in adult, old age or liaison psychiatry.

Experience working in other medical specialties including general medicine, geriatric medicine and A& E.

Excellent clinical skills using bio-psycho-social perspective and wide medical knowledge.
Excellent oral and written communication skills in English.
Participate in continuous professional development.
Able to plan and deliver undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and training relevant to this post.
Has cared for close family / friend with mental health needs.
