WHAT TO EXPECT

JLR is looking for an EDS Component Engineer, to join the EDS Component Product chapter and EDS projects. You will join a highly skilled team in charge of the development and design of all the electrical components used on JLR vehicles.

Our team is responsible for delivering the best components to our EDS harness teams, as well as guaranteeing the quality of the information within the company, including service and repair. You will play a key part in problem-solving, learning from issues within current components, and helping improve our standards for the next generation.

This is an exciting opportunity to work on specific components including high and low-voltage connectors, high-voltage charging inlets, and charging cables, which will be fitted into the future JLR vehicles.

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities

You will be responsible for defining the strategy on the components assigned to you, which may vary from low voltage/high voltage connectors to charging inlets or fixings and harness coverings. You’ll be accountable for its application on every vehicle project. Other responsibilities include:

Define the requirements and standards to meet best-in-class performance on EDS components Ensure robust implementation and compatibility with downstream systems through to production Understand the technical requirements for delivery of vehicle EDS Components Support and investigate resolution of build issues during pre-production builds and the launch phase Define, develop, and deliver strategies and processes on existing and future EDS components

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

Experience related to wiring harness components (connectors, terminal systems, coverings, charging inlet components or HV components) Experience in developing technical requirements specifications and associated test plans Experience in planning, coordination, delivery, and reporting of requirements to support the Cycle Plan programmes using Product Creation Delivery System (PCDS) principles Experience in delivering projects in an automotive or manufacturing environment Proven ability to manage senior stakeholders and communicate at all levels
