**WHAT TO EXPECT**

This position is within the Electrical Distribution Systems (EDS) Domain of the Digital Platform Technical Centre within Product Engineering.
EDS along with the whole of Product Engineering, is transitioning to operate within an Agile operating model, and this role will be important part of EDS Agile structure.
As an EDS Circuits Product Owner you’ll be working with multiple squads that specify, engineer and deliver EDS Circuits across relevant platforms and car lines, meeting defined targets and attributes (technical and commercial - on cost, quality and time).

In your role you’ll:

- Be accountable for maximizing the value of the products resulting from the work of the squads.
- Be accountable for effective product backlog management within the responsible squads.
- Be responsible for creating and sharing product roadmaps.
- Work closely with associated EDS chapter leads.
- Make sure squads follow the processes, requirements & standards and tools (in other words the “How” ) that are developed by chapters.
- Develop and implement a clear strategy for EDS Circuits to ensure that it is clearly understood within EDS domain and across all areas of the business from Purchasing, Engineering, Manufacturing and Programme teams.
- Work across relevant areas of the EDS Domain & Digital Product Platform & Vehicle Engineering, building strong relationships with other domains / functions and reflect their needs into product backlogs aligned with the product roadmaps.
- Be involved with the development and execution of the EDS end to end delivery process from concept to delivery in line with the Commodity Strategy & North Star principles.
- Lead the development of strategic EDS Circuits utilised within our vehicle range of current and future programmes and support new electrical architecture development activities as one of key contributors.
- Support Group Product Owner for quarterly & annual business reviews
- Provide regular feedback to squads regarding their performance and potential development opportunities.

**WHAT YOU WILL NEED**

Essential
- Engineering degree and/or relevant experience in automotive
- Detailed awareness and practice of operating in an agile framework
- Confident communicator, with the ability to develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders and partners at all levels of an internal and external organisation
- Ability to lead and motivate a team through transformation and high performance
- Commercially aware, with the ability to recognise, track and articulate the cost drivers, with the ability to hold functions to account on the costs impacting a system design
- Strong financial control and management of budgets for resource and investment
- Demonstrable experience of developing and implementing system and circuit strategies
- Experienced in program and project management of complex technical systems into production
- Experienced in change management whilst maintaining commodity timing and validation
- Experienced in managing teams in the use of appropriate problem-solving tools and techniques, design verification approach, failure mode avoidance processes, DFMEA, 8D, engineering release processes and gateway reporting
- Proven ability as a leader, with the capability to work on own initiative, prioritise workload demands personally and for wider team. With a focus on delivery and removing the roadblocks that inhibit the team from achieving the intended goal

Desirable
- Operated as a Product Owner within an Agile framework
- Electrical Distributions Systems attributes knowledge (Logical, Physical and Analytical)
- Knowledge and understanding of JLR PCDS and EDS CLEAR Planning Framework
- Demonstrable evidence of successful program delivery including delivering multiple large-scale programmes concurrently
- Knowledge of wiring harness components, device transmittals, system engineering and circuit development
- Experience of system design, system compatibility, wiring harness circuit design and analyses, electrical CAE, EDS complexity, fusing & grounding, associated international standards.
- Detailed understanding of the development and delivery cycle of the EDS and EDS physical circuits within a vehicle
- Understanding of EDS and system engineering standards, requirements and implications on the designs
